The idea
A useful musical idea can be trapped in a PDF or a page image. BestOMR helps you turn that page into an editable starting point, so you can spend more time arranging, practicing or teaching and less time entering every note again.
Built around review
Automatic music recognition makes mistakes. We put the original next to the result and offer playback, structural checks and review prompts to help you inspect the transcription. We do not describe a score as perfectly accurate just because it passes an automatic check.
Open exports
Your next step should be your choice. Download MusicXML, MXL or MIDI and continue in a compatible music application. BestOMR’s review screen is not a full notation editor.
A focused public beta
The beta is intended for short, clear, printed staff notation. It is free, with processing limits. We are learning which scores convert usefully and where review takes too much effort. Actual usefulness means a complete result that saves a musician time, not just a file that downloads.
Tell us how it went
Did the conversion save you time? Where did it need more work? Share feedback or a privacy request. You can also tell us if you would be interested in a paid version. Feedback is saved for review; it is not a promise of a personal reply.
The example score
“A Small Beginning” is an original eight-measure example created for BestOMR. It is offered under CC0 for unrestricted reuse. Download its image or its original MusicXML. The homepage’s “Try an example” sends its image through the same recognition process as an upload; it does not substitute the original MusicXML as a recognition result.
